DVS (Dynamic Vision Sensor)

H.P.B. Core Technology – Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS)

The Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS) is an advanced sensing technology inspired by the human visual system, purpose-built for real-time perception in motion-rich or dynamic environments.

Unlike conventional cameras that record continuous static frames, DVS employs an event-driven approach, capturing only changes in pixel brightness as they occur.

When a change in brightness occurs within a scene, each pixel independently triggers an “event” based on light intensity variation and immediately outputs the data. Pixels with no change remain inactive and generate no events.

With its high temporal resolution, low power consumption, minimal latency, and wide dynamic range, DVS performs exceptionally well in dynamic scenes and extreme conditions—making it an ideal solution for applications requiring real-time responsiveness.

Real-Life Applications of DVS Technology

  • Home Care
  • Traffic Safety: Detecting Pedestrians and Vehicles
  • Security Surveillance
  • Fire Safety Support: Smoke and flame detection & recognition
